(take it or leave it은 "그대로 받아들이든지 말든지 하다"는 뜻으로, 14세기부터 쓰인 말입니다).

 

처음 1달러에서 시작하여 매번 도전할 때마다 2배씩 상금이 높아져 6번만 맞히면 64달러를 차지하는 형식이었습니다. 문제는 갈수록 어려워져, 64달러를 받을 수 있는 문제가 가장 어려웠습니다. 이 프로그램이 어찌나 인기 있었던지, 1955~56년 시즌 미국 최고의 인기 텔레비전 프로그램은 이 라디오 퀴즈쇼를 원용한 CBS의 〈The $64000 Question〉이었습니다.
